Helping Hands Christian Learning Center is located on the southside of Holmes Road, west of Pleasant Grove Road and East of Waverly Road. We are a ministry of Redeemer Church and we are located in the church building. Helping Hands Learning Center is a part of the "Churchill Downs" Neighborhood. If you are coming from the South you would take I-96 to Martin Luther King and head North to Holmes Rd and turn left. If you are coming from the East or the West you would take I-496 to Martin Luther King Rd. or Waverly Rd. Head South to Holmes Rd. and turn left if you are on Waverly or turn right if you are on Martin Luther King Blvd. The building is on the South side of the street.
THE GREATNESS OF FALL
Fall (also called autumn) is a magical time of year when summer slowly changes into winter. For kids, it is a season full of bright colors, fun outdoor games, and exciting holidays
Autumn is often described as a season of endings; leaves falling, days shortening, and the land slowing down after summer’s abundance. For children though, autumn is far from a time of loss. It is a season brimming with sensory treasures, shifting rhythms, and meaningful rituals that enrich their development in profound ways.
More than a backdrop to their days, autumn provides a living classroom, rich with color, texture and change. For our children a muddy puddle, a crisp leaf, and a chilly morning is a gift for their growing minds – and increasingly, science agrees.
Here are some great ways our children love to enjoy the Fall.
Fun Outdoor Play

Crunchy leaves: Kids love raking leaves into big piles and jumping right into them.

Cooler weather: The crisp, refreshing air makes running, hiking, and playing outside much more comfortable than the heavy heat of summer.

Natural toys: Puddle-jumping, picking up acorns, and collecting unique sticks turn the outdoors into a giant playground
